ERNESTO TATAFIORE

1993
Tatafiore’s work rejects critical analysis; his polite and subtle stagings seem to accept no other explanation but the literal transcription of what the artist sets in front of our eyes. And so, the use of the obviousness of the description appears superfluous to stop these fishes which are swimming in the space like in an acquarium or to weigh again Mozart and the violin.

It is enough to say that, after the manner of Henri Michaux, Tatafiore uses his ironic eye to make his own obsessions and secret pleasures to be pleasant to us. « Long time ago, I was very nervous. Now I am on a new way: I put an apple on the table. Then, I put myself inside the appple. What a peace! » ( Henri Michaux )
