Born in 1965 in Naples (Italy). Lives and works in Naples, Rome & Todi. Claudia Piscitelli studied drawing and painting at the New York Studio School, the International Academy of Art (RUFA) Rome, the International Summer School Saltzburg and the Slade University London.

Formerly a biologist she also holds a PhD in Genetics and a Specialty in Microbiology from University Federico II of Naples. She has exhibited in Naples, Rome, Umbria, London and New York. For her first show at Pièce Unique Variations, she will exhibit around 20 drawings on paper from the “Soul Portraits” project.

This project starts in 2015 at the Science and Non Duality Conference where she attended a one day seminar performed by the artist Meriel Gold that teaches a method called “Drawing Home”. Those portraits are experiential events that utilize the free drawing with mixed media to represent people who do not pose professionally and who move and talk during the posing. They agree to connect at a deeper level and to open themselves, they usually choose their favorite music during the process so that the artist can represent what she feels as their soul.

Claudia Piscitelli will show « Hokusai life coloured » opening September 21 at the New York Studio School in Greenwich Village, New York
